A delegation of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind met Gurugram Police Commissioner Mrs. Kala Ram Chandran at her office to register their protest against the open call for genocide of Muslims and blasphemous chants against the Holy Prophet Muhammad at a rally in the city.
NEW DELHI – A central delegation of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind led by Jamiat General Secretary Maulana Hakeemuddin Qasmi met Gurugram Police Commissioner Mrs. Kala Ram Chandran at her office at the city police headquarters to register their protest against the open call for genocide of Muslims and blasphemous chants against the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) at rally in the city.
Similar slogans were raised in Tripura last year during anti-Muslim riot and in a public meeting at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. They said such outrageous incidents are shameful for the country. The only reason the antisocial elements are indulging in such acts, they said is the laxity of police and other law enforcement agencies.
“Lack of action from the law enforcers gives a sense of impunity to the culprits and emboldens them to carry on with their nefarious designs,” said the delegates.
The delegation expected the police to take this matter seriously and take strict action against the culprits so that such incidents don’t repeat and cause unrest in the country.
The city commissioner replied that a case has already been registered in the matter. Strict action will be taken against such culprits. The Jamiat delegation also met the Deputy Commissioner of Police.
The delegation of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind also visited the Jama Masjid in Saddar Bazaar, near which the communal slogans were raised on Wednesday. Maulana Hakeemuddin Qasmi appealed for maintaining peace and calmness.
JUH, besides Maulana Hakeemuddin Qasmi, included M. Noorullah Advocate Supreme Court, MG Qasmi Senior Organizer of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, Maulana Mufti Saleem Banarsi President of Jamiat Ulama Gurugram, Maulana Yaseen Jahazi and Mohammad Mubashir.
