Firms Warned Against Doing Business with Israeli Collaborators

JEDDAH – The Kingdom has banned commercial transactions with parties involved in dealings with Israel and the Tanzanian-Israeli Economic Forum. The order, issued by Minister of Trade and Industry Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, also blacklists some officials of the Tanzanian Ministry of Water, to whom Israel pledged the building of desalination plants in Dar es Salaam.

The Kingdom is strictly monitoring all economic transactions and continues to prohibit any activity or company that deals with Israel, sources in the ministry said.

Al-Rabiah’s order followed a message from Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal that identified a network of Tanzanian companies doing business with Israel.

Informed sources said that efforts are being made by private Saudi companies, in cooperation with some government agencies, to prepare a list of well-known Tanzanian companies that are not involved or linked to Israeli counterparts. This will encourage exploration of positive opportunities in the field of water and allow for cooperation in solving the problem of water scarcity in Tanzania, while limiting Israel’s role. — Arab News
