Woman hailed for filing complaint against Hindu Jagran Manch leader and not buckling down under his pressure

NEW DELHI – Hindu Jagran Manch leader along with some unknown persons were booked on Sunday after Hindutva activists forced a Hindu woman to beat up her Muslim friend with slipper for going out with her in Meerut.
A video clip of the woman being forced by a group of Hindutva activists to beat up Salman with slippers has surfaced on social media. Salman, who can be seen taking a slipper on his face several times, was also reportedly beaten up by those Hindutva activists after making him hold his ear through his legs.
In the video, the group of people can be heard saying “we are your brothers, do not worry” as the woman slaps him.

Those people even dragged Salman to the police station and wanted him to get booked. But the woman refused to file a complaint against him saying that she was with him of her own accord. Then, Hindu Jagran Manch men forced her mother to file a complaint against Salman but later, the police withdrew the complaint saying that it was filed under pressure.
“The mother later withdrew the complaint, saying that it was not written by her but by the members of the Hindu Jagran Manch. She told us that she did not know what was written in her complaint,” Gajendra Singh, the Investigating Officer, was quoted by the Indian Express as saying.
On the contrary, the woman filed a complaint against local chief of Hindu Jagran Manch Sachin Sirohi accusing him and others of forcing her to beat her friend Salman at Gole Market on Friday. In her complaint, she said that when she was having a cold drink along with her two friends at Gole Market, a group of people came, asked Salman his name and started assaulting him.
“They forced us to beat him (Salman) and told me to get an FIR registered against him or else there will be bad consequences. I have come to the police station. Please lodge an FIR,” said the woman in her complaint lodged at Civil Lines Police Station.
In the complaint, she also said that she was forced to beat up Salman by them. They also asked her to beat up another friend.

After the FIR registered against him, Sirohi claimed that the woman filed a complaint against him under pressure and blamed the police that they are allowing Muslim man to harass Hindu woman. Sirohi told media that they were informed about a local shopkeeper about the Hindu woman hanging out with a Muslim man.
