Advani Remarks Stinging Indictment of Modi: Congress

NEW DELHI (IANS) — The Congress on Friday said that veteran BJP leader L.K. Advanis remarks that the party never regarded political foes as “anti-nationals” was a “stinging indictment of demeaning politics” of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party chief Amit Shah.

“BJP patriarch and Modiji’s political guru Advani in a stinging indictment to demeaning politics of Modi-Shah, founded on hurling abuses on political opponents, has exposed their duplicity and hypocrisy,” Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala told the media here.

He said Advani had stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party’s conception of Indian nationalism never regarded those who disagree with it politically as “anti-national”.

“While politically we disagree with many of Advani’s views, his deceiving disciples, Modi-Shah, have unashamedly refused to even acknowledge the stinging indictment of their arrogant working style,” Surjewala said.

He said Modi and Shah were “habitual offenders of labelling, cataloguing, categorizing every opponent as ‘anti-national’ and ‘Pakistani agents’, besides hurling abuse and vitriol every second which reflects their political bankruptcy”.
