NEW DELHI – Three persons including a journalist have been booked by Karnataka Police for allegedly morphing a video to show a woman raising the ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogan.

A report on Bangalore-based The News Minute has identified the accused journalist as Harish. The case has been filed at Shanivarasanthe Police station in Kodagu district.

According to police, the original slogan raised by the woman was ‘Ambedkar Zindabad’ during protest on November 12 against arrest of a Muslim man.

The video from the protest was later morphed to show she raised the ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogan.

Harish and Raghu, a Gram Panchayat member, then used the video to give a call for strike in Shanivarasanthe on November 15. Gireesha, the third person booked, had reportedly shared the video on several WhatsApp groups.

The three were booked on charges of disturbing law and order in the area by sharing a morphed video with provocative content. The FIR invokes relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code against the accused.
