RAMPUR — Senior Samajwadi Party leader and member of Parliament from Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, along with his aides, has been booked in a fresh case of dacoity on Thursday by the Uttar Pradesh Police for usurping a piece of land for a school he built.

Earlier, the Samajwadi Party leader’s anticipatory bail plea in 29 cases, of land grabbing registered against him in Rampur, was rejected on Wednesday.

The report was filed against Azam Khan, former circle officer Aale Hasan, Fasahat Shanu, Veerendra Goyal and constable Dharmendra by one Nanhe, whose land was taken along with others’ for the construction of Rampur Public School.

According to SP Rampur, Ajay Pal Sharma, the complainant Nanhe has alleged that Khan and others took away his land and demolished his house. They did not just stop at that, the accused also took away his personal belongings, jewellery and his cattle, Nanhe said.

The complainant alleged that the land offered for rehabilitation in exchange for his original property was later taken from him again.

“The complaint was found to be genuine during investigations and the FIR has been lodged,” the SP said.

Nanhe had lodged an FIR in this regard on October 15, 2016 but no action was taken, it is reported.
