Ratnagiri student praised for balancing academic excellence, religious education and sports; family and teachers celebrate her outstanding achievement

MUMBAI — A young student and a Hafiza (a female who has completely memorised the entire Holy Qur’an by heart) from Ratnagiri district in the Konkan region of Maharashtra has achieved outstanding success in the Central Board of Secondary Education examinations by scoring 99 per cent marks in Class 12.

The results were announced on May 13.

Alia Asif Chogle, a resident of Khed taluka in Ratnagiri district, has garnered widespread acclaim in educational and social circles for her remarkable achievements.

Along with modern education, Alia has also completed religious studies and memorisation of the Holy Qur’an, something her family says played an important role in shaping her discipline and dedication.

Apart from academics, she has also actively participated in sports activities during her school years.

Family members and teachers said Alia has consistently remained among the top students throughout her academic journey and has shown excellence in studies from an early age.

According to her family, she remained a class topper from kindergarten to Class 12.

Alia completed her pre-primary, primary and secondary education from DPS Monarch International School in Doha.

She now hopes to pursue a career as a chartered accountant.

Speaking after the results, Alia expressed happiness and gratitude over her achievement.

“I was expecting around 95 per cent marks, but Allah Almighty blessed me with even higher marks. I am very happy and satisfied,” she said.

“In the future, too, God willing, I will continue trying to maintain the same academic performance. Teachers, parents and the educational environment at home played a major role in my success,” she added.

Her father, Asif Chogle, thanked teachers, relatives, friends and well-wishers for their support and prayers.

“The prayers and encouragement of everyone helped my daughter achieve this success,” he said while requesting continued prayers for her future.

Alia is also the granddaughter of late Hassan Chogle, who was known in the Konkan region for his involvement in social, educational and economic activities.

Residents of the Konkan region and members of educational organisations described Alia’s achievement as a matter of pride for the community.

Teachers said her success reflected years of hard work, discipline and consistency.

One teacher associated with her studies said, “Alia remained focused and sincere throughout her educational journey. She balanced academics, religious education and extracurricular activities with maturity.”

Her achievement has also been welcomed by members of the Indian Muslim community, who said stories like hers encourage Muslim girls to pursue higher education and professional careers with confidence.

Several social media users and local organisations congratulated her and expressed hope that she would continue achieving success in the future.

Educationists in Maharashtra said students like Alia show how family support, strong educational values and determination can help young people reach high academic standards.

Her success comes at a time when many families in the Konkan region are increasingly encouraging girls to pursue higher studies and professional qualifications.

For many students and parents, Alia Asif Chogle’s result is now being seen as an inspiring example of academic excellence achieved through discipline, faith and continuous hard work.
