At present there are 78,420 active cases of Covid-1 in Kerala.
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM — On a day when Kerala continues to keep its test positivity rate below 11 per cent while recording 7,007 more coronavirus cases, Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan on Wednesday donated 20,000 N-95 masks to the southern state.
Shah Rukh Khan’s NGO Meer Foundation donated the masks for the COVID-19 resistance activities in southern state. Meer Foundation was formed for the empowerment of acid attack survivors and is also focusing on COVID-19 prevention.
At present, there are 78,420 active case in Kerala.
State Health Minister KK Shailaja, while thanking Khan, said that 7,252 patients had tested negative during the day, taking total cured patients to 4,22,410 in the state.
Bollywood heartthrob has been in the forefront of providing help, in whichever way, as India fights Covid-19. Earlier, in April, Shah Rukh Khan provided 25000 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to medical teams across Maharashtra.
In the past 24 hours, 64,192 samples was send for testing. The corona death toll rose to 1,771 as 29 more patients died on Wednesday.
Across the state, 3,15,246 persons are under observation at various places, including 19,034 in hospitals. There are 622 hotspots in the state.
