KHARTOUM (IINA) – The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has requested the Sudanese government to organize daily IOM flights to Sudan to facilitate evacuation of all foreigners from Yemen.
Khartoum has denied that the IOM flights will carry Israeli nationals among those to be evacuated to Sudan. Apart from the number of foreigners who have already been evacuated to their countries through Sudan, some 16,000 migrants from 37 countries are awaiting evacuation amid an armed conflict in Yemen, according to the IOM.
Sudanese Foreign Ministry spokesman Ali Al-Sadiq said in a press release that the IOM evacuated 141 passengers on its latest flight to Sudan after requesting the government to facilitate daily flights for foreigners’ evacuation from Yemen.
